brass-tray
Brass Serving Tray - Rectangle (OUT OF STOCK)

I am a brass serving tray. Whether I’m entering a room with drinks, resting on a nearby coffee table or organizing precious items, I carry myself with elegance and charm wherever I may be.

Curator's Note

We love the subtle textural crude casting surface on this tray. The slow oxidization of the brass allows its coloration and texture to change, gradually creating a rich patina over many years. The heaviness and timeless shape of it also gives it an opulent appearance. A beautiful and traditional object like this is one that will remain a household classic for generations.

Brass Serving Tray was curated by Stevenson Aung

Designer/Maker

Maker: Futagami

Designer: Masanori Oji

Specifications

Dimensions: 9.5” (w) x 14” (l) x 1.25” (h) or 241mm (w) x 356mm (l) x 32mm (h)

Weight: 3.75lbs or 1.70kg

Materials: Brass

Details

Made in Japan

Curved facet edges

Copper acquisition from Toyama Prefecture

Molding in Takaoka City

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc

Brass products gradually change their color over the course of many years due to oxidization

A camel colored patina is expected to develop within 5 years

A russet brown color patina is expected develop at approximately 30 years

Casted brass surface and polished brass surface on underside
