Comprised of four components that can be shaped and reshaped to the limits of one's imagination, the house offers the chance to rethink and play with the idea of what home could be. Michiko builds each component with layers of found material that imbues each set with a warm, lived-in character.

Installation House was curated by Angélique Chmielewski

Designer/Maker

Artist: Michiko Iwata

Specifications

Dimensions:

Main Box Approximately 3.1” (w) x 5.5” (l) x 2.4" (h) or 8cm (w) x 14cm (l) x 6cm (h)

Weight:

Approximately 8 oz or 227 g

Materials:

Wooden Box, Old Paper, Iron Sheet, Old Map, Plastic Cap, Magnet

Details

Assemblage of found objects and materials collected by the artist

Creation year, 2021

Original work

Hand signed by Michiko Iwata on underside of the box

The installation has four components that can be rearranged in multiple ways

A detachable plastic bottle cap element can attach to the magnetic areas of the work

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0194/5843/products/Michiko_Iwata_Set_House_A_Featured_eac38045-401a-48a4-a8f0-f8d604644fc4.jpg?v=1637272753
